Biography

Born in Kpomkpo, a rural community located in the North-Tongu District of the Volta Region, Mr. Bright Kwadzo Gakpe is a Lecturer at the Department of Public Relations of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). His areas of expertise and interest include corporate public relations, mass communication, effective business communication in organisational settings, and health communication.

Prior to joining academia, he worked as a project staff at the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA). He was part of the team that worked on the “naming and shaming” project which involved monitoring of indecent language-use by politicians on radio during Ghana’s 2012 elections.

He has been a part-time lecturer at the African University College of Communications in Accra and also taught in first and second cycle levels of education for six years.  At UPSA, Bright served on a number of committees, including time-table and course content and structure review committee for Public Relations Management Programme. He is the lead lecturer for Public Relations Diploma courses.
