Biography

Samuel Pimpong is a lecturer in Public Sector Accounting and holds a PhD degree in Political Science. His main areas of expertise include Public Financial Management, Public Policy Analysis and Comparative Politics.

               

Prior to joining academia, Samuel worked as an Administrative Officer at the All Africa Students’ Union (AASU), where he had the opportunity to represent the youth of Ghana at the World Youth Forum in Braga, Portugal. He also represented AASU at the World Conference on Higher Education in Paris, France in October, 1998. 

Samuel also served as a Teaching/Research Assistant at the University of Ghana, Legon, where he organised tutorials in Research Methods, Public Administration and Comparative Politics.

He was part of the research team at the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) that conducted surveys on Poverty Alleviation and Corruption on behalf of the World Bank in 2000. Samuel pursued further studies in the UK where he obtained an MBA degree. He also worked with the University of Essex, Colchester, UK (Part-Time) as a Researcher, conducting research over a period of three (3) years.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the renowned International Consortium on Governmental Financial Management (ICGFM), USA.

Teaching Statement

To make lectures very interactive and interesting for the benefit of the students.  Facilitate and enhance teaching and learning by allowing questions and discussions during lecture sessions, and to conduct research into the subject areas to remain current and effective.
