Richard Dua-Ansah is a Legal Practitioner and Intellectual Property Attorney in Ghana. He is an Associate Lawyer with Kyidom Chambers, a Law firm situated in the Central Business District in Accra. He is also one of the founding members of Intellectual Property Network Ghana, a pioneer Intellectual Property think tank and advocacy group in Ghana.

Born in Obo-Kwahu in the Eastern Region of Ghana, Richard had his Secondary education at St. Peter’s Boys Senior High School in Nkwatia-Kwahu. He proceeded to the University of Ghana where he pursued and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science with Philosophy and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. He also obtained a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law, upon successful completion of which he was called to the Bar to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana. Richard thereafter obtained his Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property Law from the Africa University, Zimbabwe. In June 2015, Richard had the opportunity to attend a two-week Training Course for Intellectual Property Practitioners organized by the Japan Patent Office in Tokyo, Japan. He has also previously pursued short courses in Securities courses at the Ghana Stock Exchange, Project Management and Real Estate Management.

Richard is a Christian of the reformed tradition and fellowships with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Nantoma Memorial Congregation, Kanda – Accra where he plays the organ in church and loves to teach music especially to children. He also serves at the National level of the Church as a Board Member and Secretary to the Board of the Presbyterian Relief Services and Development, as well as Member of the Judicial Council of the Young Adults’ Fellowship of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
