Teaching Statement

At the beginning of my career, I taught for a few years and branched to do administrative work and I am back to teaching.  There is always a feeling of satisfaction after a lecture and you know that the students were able to follow the class and that knowledge has been imparted.

Though teaching has its challenges, the onus lies on the lecturer to do due diligence and overcome them.  For that matter I place a very high value on my responsibility as a lecturer.

I see teaching to be part of academic research.  A classroom setting is a place to come up with new ideas and to test existing theories and also discover new ones.  Teaching is a learning experience and for the number of years I have taught I have come to the conclusion that hard work, good preparation, and being familiar with your subject go a long way to make the students have a good learning experience.
