Biography

AWAAH, Fred hails from Zuarungu in the Upper East Region of Ghana. He is a lecturer with the Department of Business Administration at the University of Professional Studies – Accra. His areas of expertise include Public Administration, Leadership and Management. He has lectured in these areas since 2013 at the University of Professional Studies – Accra, Ghana.

He has unimaginable experience in International Students’ Governance and has been synonymous to effective Student Governance in Africa and many parts of the world. He was the Secretary General of the All - Africa Students Union (AASU) from 2012-2016.  Prior to this, he was a representative of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) to the All - Africa Students Union (2011), Representative of NUGS to Ghana’s Constitutional Review Commission (2010), Representative of NUGS to Ghana’s Students Loan Trust Fund (2010), Vice President of the Students’ Representative Council of the University of Professional Studies, Accra – UPSA (2007), founder and first President of the Association of Bachelor of Business Administration Students – UPSA (2006). Awaah also served as member of the Africa Working Group of the Commonwealth Students ‘Association (2012 -2014).

Awaah attended Bolgatanga Secondary School where he obtained the Ordinary Level Certificate in General Arts, and Labone Secondary School for his Advance Level in Business Studies. He then proceeded to the Tamale Polytechnic where he obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial and Management Studies (2000). He continued to the Institute of Professional Studies, now University of Professional Studies and obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2008. Awaah continued his education at the University of Ghana Business School where he obtained a Master of Philosophy in Public Administration (2012).

He started his career as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Professional Studies Accra, subsequently became the head of the Alumni Desk unit and now a lecturer in the same University. He teaches Public Administration, Leadership, Management and Environmental Management.
