The Presiding Archbishop and General Overseer of the Christian Action Faith Ministries (CAFM), Nicholas Duncan-Williams has led the management and staff of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) to dedicate its new 3500-capacity auditorium.

 

 

The Archbishop, at the special service held on Sunday, 28th April 2019, commended the leadership of the University for demonstrating a great sense of leadership and urged them to continue in this “divine direction” in order to “take UPSA to the promised land.”

Delivering a sermon on the theme: “Developing your capacity for the future,” the renowned man of God also challenged students to take their personal and professional development seriously.

 

“Build on your capacities,” he said, “for your capacity and personal development will determine your position and success in the future,” added “Papa” as he is reverentially called.

The Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, in his welcome message encouraged researchers to study the works, contributions, and life of the man who is touted as the founder and father of the Charismatic Movement in Ghana and come out with books on his over 40 years experience in the body of Christ.

 

According to the VC, the yet-to-be-commissioned state of the art edifice is yet another important milestone in the transformational agenda of the University.

“The school can now boast of world-class facilities including the Joshua Alabi Library, the Famous LBS block, the Students’ Centre and this new auditorium which is second to none in Ghana,” Prof Amartey said.

 

Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof Charles Barnor, announced that the school will hold a mock graduation ceremony for all final year students in level 400 come 8th May, 2019 at the new auditorium and added that the President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to grace the occasion that day and officially commission the GH¢77million Ultra-Modern 3500 capacity Auditorium.

Also present at the Special Sunday Service were top management members of the University as well as deans, lecturers, staff and students.  

 

The UPSA choir, the Inspirational Choir inspired all present with uplifting song ministrations. Minister, Elsie Duncan-Williams (the daughter of Archbishop Duncan-Williams) also treated congregants to some soul-soothing spiritual songs on the day.
